Day 9 - Sunday stuff

A photo wrap up of our weekend and what I have been doing today...

(on Friday we headed to South Dakota for a karate tournament - saw this wind energy farm on the way there - this photo from my phone doesn't do it justice.  It looked pretty awesome.)

(thanks to aforementioned tournament, now I have to find somewhere to put these... the kids did well but just about everyone in the younger age groups gets a trophy regardless so you end up with a truckload of the things)

Over 40...

Can someone please explain to me how, after a certain age, you suddenly have to pluck hair seemingly continuously from your face, neck and body and do so religiously but, one day, you catch the light a different way and find this....

...which apparently has been growing for 3 months and you never noticed it before!  Just delightful.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Very quick post to share some exquisiteness.  Sigh, aren't these just so gorgeous??  My dear husband bought them for me last night.  Peonies are my favourite flowers but I have never had a bunch and I just love them....

I have a whole host of projects coming up over the next week.  I just need some light to take some photos (raining here today) then I am all over it...  Hope you are all looking forward to a great weekend!

Smoky quartz

I went shopping for gifts for two people today.  Only one person is receiving their gift......this one is mine now.... mwaahaahaaahaa (insert evil laugh)

Oh, I fell in love with that beautiful smoky quartz pendant.

We have this wonderful jeweller here that makes really lovely stuff with semi-precious stones and mostly sterling silver.  You can get 18K gold as well but I prefer the look of silver.  He makes to order as well and is pretty darn cheap.  This little beauty cost less than $50.  I will have to go back and buy a different one for the gift now.....

p.s.  I haven't forgotten about my giveaway!  I am trying to decide what to give!  Decisions, decisions....

Funny ha ha

This is a little known (boring) fact about me but I have a half hearted collection of funny translations from commercial packaging. They tickle my funny bone, what can I say? For example, take this one that I bought the other day. It is one of those glove exfoliating mitt things for the shower. I just love what is written on the back. Replace traditional towel?? Um, ok. Easy to grasp? My most intimate friend everyday? What the?? Too much information my friends.... LOL.

(disclaimer - I am not ridiculing my chinese brothers & sisters - believe me, whilst I am trying to learn spanish myself I fully understand the hilarity that ensues....anyone for a hamburger with a bone?)
